Reblogged from Leisure Time Collection:
As my nearest fabric store is about a 40 mile round trip I always try to stock up, especially as their stock is constantly changing and you never know what fabrics will be available next time you visit. Saturday morning's trip yielded some lovely fabrics, a few of the fabrics will be used during the making of the forest baby quilt.
A blogging friend is making a quilt for Athena and it is more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. The community and sense of belonging that surrounds me in the blogging world is heart warming. Thank you to all of my followers, readers, and friends. Today is a good day because you are part of it.

what a stunning gift!
Hi Lesley,
Indeed, a stunning gift from a friend. I agree that blogging creates strong and generous bonds. I myself have strung together cancer awareness bracelets for a blog friend and her sister. And, it felt good sharing.
Just enjoying your posts. First off, sincere Congratulations on the birth of your beautiful girl! I saw her photos
A lovely idea for a gift. I would never have guessed that blogging could bring such a sense of community, the variety of friends I have made constantly amazes me too.
This is great! Congratulations on the beautiful new baby and I hope she enjoys the wonderful quilt.
What a thoughtful gift from a fellow blogger! Athena will treasure it.
How beautiful! What a thoughtful gift!
What a wonderful community of people and how lucky we all are to get to revel in it. Many happy naps, cuddles and snuggles for Athena and her handmade quilt sewn of friendship.

Mazel tov on your baby’s birth AND the amazing stats you’ve already accomplished for your blog. My daughter, who’s at Stanford Med and has one girl age 2 and is expecting her second child in Sept., NEVER EVEN USED BABY FOODS. You might want to consider it. Jo, my granddaughter, is an adventurous eater and robust.
Baby congrats. Sewing for a little girl is so much fun. I love combining all those different prints. Have fun.

“Athena” . . that’s a great name! My oldest daughter, in Oklahoma is named Athena (Adele). Thanks for stopping by my blog “Wild Side” and appreciating my article about Killdeer. Best to you and your baby, Athena.
