I’m never in the picture! I’m always the one behind the camera or the one holding the 
camera out taking the shot of everyone. It’s a constant struggle that results in a disappointing photo that can’t capture the background. During my recent trips to Aruba and Hard Rock Vallarta though, I found a simple, yet fantastic solution. Darren didn’t go down the slide quite as quickly as I did, but speed it up and add the Benny Hill Theme Song and you have something worth viewing. It’s a good laugh if nothing else. We’re obviously having the time of our lives at Hard Rock Vallarta.

After a little bit of encouragement from my husband this evening, I’ve decided to share my Hard Rock Vallarata water slide video. There is nothing graceful or reserved about it, but my enjoyment of the hotel and all of its amenities is obvious.
Watch it tonight because I may have one of those, “What was I thinking” moments tomorrow and take it down. As for now, I’m having the time of my life with my family. Enjoy!

In a few hours, we were able to get more family time in at Hard Rock Hotel Vallarata than
an entire week at home. We arrived at the Hard Rock at 1:20 pm today and we already enjoyed lunch and dinner together, went for a swim in the pool, walked along the beach, and relaxed on the balcony. Now that Athena has gone to bed, we’re hanging out in the room with a handful of drinks and unlimited room service. I think we’re in for a great week! Continue reading

While in Aruba, I discovered a new sport that combines everything I love about sports. 
Take the fun and fast-paced sport of tennis, add a volleyball court, and a sunny beach setting, and you have the new, exciting sport called beach tennis. It’s like tennis except its played on a regulation beach volleyball court. Two to four players on each team volley back and forth without letting the ball bounce. One hit per team is all that is allowed and points are scored when the ball is hit outside the lines or touches the ground. Beach tennis is played with specially designed paddles and de-pressurized tennis balls that make it easier to keep a rally going. After twenty minutes of instruction, I was ready to test my skills in a match and after two hours, I wanted to add “play beach tennis regularly” to my bucket list. I think I found my new favorite sport. Continue reading
