Contrary to popular belief, happiness doesn’t come from fame, fortune, other people, or material possessions. Rather, it comes from within. The richest person in the world could be miserable while a homeless person could be right outside, smiling and content with their life. Happy people are happy because they make themselves happy. They maintain a positive outlook on life and remain at peace with themselves.

Why Should I Have the World?

I recently published a posted called Independently Wealthy, Right? that reflected on how I got to where I am today and why I think I should win the Biggest Baddest Bucket List contest with My Destination.  With several hundred comments and personal emails, I thought a similar post would be the best way to wrap up my entry in the contest and encourage voting one last time. I’m currently in 3rd place with several great entries gaining on me and only two days left to vote. The top five entries with the most votes go on to the next round in London, England to meet the judges. I’m still confident that I can make it… with your help. What will I win? A trip around the world and $50,000 cash!

Then, I started blogging. It was the accumulation of all of my dreams come true.

For the last two months, I’ve been posting about The Biggest, Baddest Bucket List contest; after all, no contest exists that is more fitting for Bucket List Publications. Following my dreams of traveling and experiencing life to the fullest has taught me that the world is full of endless possibilities and Bucket List Publications is the accumulation of all of my wildest dreams come true. The Biggest Baddest Bucket List contest, though, is like my bucket list on steroids. With only 9 days left to vote, I’m currently in 1st place for a trip around the world and $50,000! I’m going to win… with your help.

Daily I think about my greatest desires. What if we lived a life without restrictions? With unlimited funds, time, resources…. What would you do tomorrow? How would you spend your day? That’s how I try to spend each day. I find out what I want the most and figure out how to make it happen. That’s what life is all about. We are all capable.

My philosophy: the more unrealistic I am with my dreams and goals, the more I’m able to achieve. Since entering the Biggest, Baddest Bucket List contest, I’ve been dreaming about touring around the world and exploring new countries, cultures, and adventures. At first, I didn’t think I’d even enter the contest because I have a new baby, a new home, and we’re living in a new state, and country, but I realized that anything is possible. Trying to win the contest will teach Athena that we don’t have to live a life with restrictions.

Independently Wealthy, Right?

You’re rich, right? You travel around the world at your leisure and don’t worry about a thing. You don’t have a day job, do you? You’re playing and living and indulging your “bucket list” in luxury. Are you really in need of anything? These are the comments I receive on a regular basis and I’d like to take just one post and one post only to discuss it and then dismiss it because I don’t feel like I need to give it any more of my time.
