Back to the Beach

My ten days in Jordan were life-changing. I journeyed to five of my bucket list locations including Petra, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea, the Red Sea, and Jerash. I hiked, swam, walked, and climbed my way through the country. I rode 4x4s, buses, cars, planes, donkeys, and camels; and I am exhausted. After ten days of being a hyperactive tourist, I want some beach time. This week we are relaxing at Pink Shell Beach Resort and Marina in Fort Myers, Florida. My plan is to spend as much time as humanly possible in the pool and on the beach. Forget constant exercise and adventure; I’m ready to relax.

Moments as Deep as the Ocean Sand

It’s 9:13 pm and I’m exhausted. I feel like it’s 4 o’clock in the morning. Why? because I spent the day basking in the warm, bright sun, building sand castles, and running along the beach chasing birds. We’re spending the weekend at Island Vista Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC and it’s a remarkable place to enjoy with your family. 

Why Should I Have the World?

I recently published a posted called Independently Wealthy, Right? that reflected on how I got to where I am today and why I think I should win the Biggest Baddest Bucket List contest with My Destination.  With several hundred comments and personal emails, I thought a similar post would be the best way to wrap up my entry in the contest and encourage voting one last time. Then, I started blogging. It was the accumulation of all of my dreams come true.

For the last two months, I’ve been posting about The Biggest, Baddest Bucket List contest; after all, no contest exists that is more fitting for Bucket List Publications. Following my dreams of traveling and experiencing life to the fullest has taught me that the world is full of endless possibilities and Bucket List Publications is the accumulation of all of my wildest dreams come true. The Biggest Baddest Bucket List contest, though, is like my bucket list on steroids. With only 9 days left to vote, I’m currently in 1st place for a trip around the world and $50,000! I’m going to win… with your help. 

My Around the World Plan

My philosophy: the more unrealistic I am with my dreams and goals, the more I’m able to achieve. Since entering the Biggest, Baddest Bucket List contest, I’ve been dreaming about touring around the world and exploring new countries, cultures, and adventures. At first, I didn’t think I’d even enter the contest because I have a new baby, a new home, and we’re living in a new state, and country, but I realized that anything is possible. Trying to win the contest will teach Athena that we don’t have to live a life with restrictions.

Escape from the Stress of Moving

Holes in the wall, lifting heavy boxes, scratches on the floor, packing, unpacking, misplacing screws… moving is stressful. My new house is absolutely beautiful and during the evening when I can look up at the stars from my bedroom window, it’s all worth the hassle but I needed a break. There’s no better place to get away from it all than Neverland. Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux’s gravity-defying Peter Pan tells the story of the mischievous boy who never wants to grow up, his spunky sidekick Tinker Bell, and the frightful Captain Hook. Last night, I escaped to Neverland with this whimsical ballet and my imagination took flight.

Making Bucket List Dreams a Reality

In the last year, I made 8 bucket list dreams come true for my readers. Skydiving, heli-skiing, piloting a helicopter, driving a NASCAR, riding in a limo, enjoying a spa day, touring wine country, and attending a ballet were all items on the bucket lists of my readers. I found ways to sponsor them or offer their dreams for free. All they needed to do was show up and live a bucket list dream day. This year I hope to do the same for at least 5 more readers. It’s one of the greatest feelings in the world to be able to help others accomplish their dreams. It’s amazing how much what you can do for others actually does for you.
